Reading seems to be the best means to acquire a language since it engulfs a set of treasures and opens many perspectives to the journey of learning. Yet, the experience of reading requires hard work, endurance, and smartness.

First, the love of reading doesn’t happen from the first days, it takes place after a certain period of self-discipline and assiduity. In fact, the reader starts one’s attempt to gain some rhythm by setting aside an everyday length of time to read and develop this attempt to a habit then LOVE and PASSION happen. It is advisable to choose something the reader loves and matches one’s level.

Second, the choice of excellent books comes from accumulation. In truth, a book leads to another book, to another writer, to another world of ideas and thoughts. The reader develops one’s own way of discovering and selecting the books to read. Recommendation from acquaintances also helps to discover the best book since the passion and interest are shared by all readers.

Third, the experience of reading should focus on the qualitative. While reading a book, the purpose isn’t to complete it but to get immersed in its ideas and draw some added value irrespective of the time the journey of reading takes. Moreover, while reading some work, the reader should ask questions and wonder about many things such as the choice of vocabulary, the use of grammar, punctuation, the style of writing … the best way to memorize vocabulary is to write the new words the reader faces repeatedly in a notebook and practice them, learning by heart doesn’t seem effective.
