Verb TO BE is the most common verb in English. It means to exist, to occur, or to have some characteristics. It serves many functions but should be used with carefulness.
In fact, the communicator tends to frequently use verb TO BE because it offers quick solutions and alternatives and saves him or her from falling in gaps or interruptions and helps his or her communication flow easily.
However, verb TO BE turns into a real setback in communication and hinders the communicator from developing one’s level and expressing oneself accurately.
Apparently, an excess use of this verb makes the communicator lazier and prevents him or her from making more effort and deploying his vocabulary and enriching his linguistic background ( vocabulary, grammar, linguistic intelligence, intuition…).
Besides, verb TO BE tends to the absolute and marginalises the relative since it seems to turn everything into a fact and offers more certainty. It closes the door to doubt and questions. It stands as a kind of hypnotizing one’s mind and kills critical and analytical thinking.
